Fairleigh Dickinson vs Butler Prediction
I’ll probably just go with Butler in this one. The Bulldogs played quite well versus an overmatched Lafayette team in a home victory on Monday. Butler shot 48 percent in that one with 36 percent from 3-point range and 94 percent from the line (16-of-17). The Bulldogs had a 51-28 rebounding edge and led for 98 percent of the game. The only real blemish was the 20 turnovers, but that can be attributed to first-game nerves and a lot of mop-up time for the less experienced players on the bench.
As for Fairleigh Dickinson, they’re coming off a blowout road loss to a great Illinois team. We’ll get a better look at the Knights in this matchup but I like Butler to handle business in this home game as well.

Fairleigh Dickinson Knights Betting Preview
Fairleigh Dickinson didn’t have the greatest season in 2025-26, taking a slight step back in the record column. The Knights finished their run at 11-21 overall with an 8-10 mark in Northeast Conference play. They finished behind LIU, Central Connecticut, Mercyhurst, Le Moyne, New Haven and Stonehill in the NEC standings with that run. After finishing the regular season on a three-game skid, the Knights lost to Mercyhurst in the first game of the NEC Tournament.
The Knights opened their season on Monday versus the Illinois Fighting Illini. In that one Fairleigh Dickinson was pretty well outmatched, limping to a 120-45 loss on the road at State Farm Center in Champaign. Leading the starters in scoring was David Jevtic with 13 points, six rebounds, one assists and one steal in 23 minutes of work. He was the only Fairleigh Dickinson player to reach double-digits in the losing effort. Coming off the bench was Vophcy Prophete with eight points and one rebound in 23 minutes as the second-highest team scorer.
Butler Bulldogs Betting Preview
Over on the Butler side, they had something of a middling season in 2025-26 and got lost amid a competitive conference. The Bulldogs were 16-16 overall with a 7-13 mark in Big East play. They would finish ahead of only Providence, Xavier and Georgetown with that result. Butler closed the regular season on a somewhat promising 3-2 run with victories over Georgetown, Xavier and DePaul. In the Big East Tournament however, Butler took a loss to Providence in the first game.
Butler also has one game in the can this year. They took on Lafayette on Monday. In that matchup the Bulldogs played well at Hinkle Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, posting a 96-60 victory in front of over 6,500 home fans. Butler got double-digit points from all five starters in that one, with Asim Djulovic leading the charge on 19 points, two assists and 4-of-6 from outside. Jalen Jackson was close behind with his 18 points, five rebounds, five assists and three steals in 27 minutes of work. Tops off the bench was Jordan Ellerbee who turned in 16 points with three boards and three assists in 20 minutes on the floor for the Bulldogs.
