I’m going to take a stab on East Tennessee State. The Bucs have some work to do this year with the lone returning starter, but they’ve also got a few more veterans back in the fold to help get the team going. Among them is senior Maki Johnson, who notched 5.7 PPG last season and has spent his entire career with ETSU. Overall, the team looks pretty decent on paper but we’ll have to see how that translates.
As for Arizona State, they’ve got something of a patchwork roster now following Bennett’s March illness and mad scramble to find players in the portal. That said, there’s plenty of size and talent here. The Sun Devils could very well surpass most people’s modest expectations for them this season.
