Duke Blue Devils Betting Preview
Duke kicked off this year’s campaign with a matchup versus Texas at home. The Blue Devils were in trouble at the half with a 33-32 deficit, but woke up after the break. Duke hit a 43-27 run the rest of the way in a 75-60 comeback victory. Topping the scorers was Isaiah Evans with 23 points in 33 minutes of work on the floor. Cameron Boozer added a double-double on 15 points, 13 rebounds and two assists in 36 minutes, while Patrick Ngongba put up 10 points with four boards.
In game two versus Western Carolina on Saturday, the Blue Devils had an easier time. Duke carried a 45-21 edge into the locker room, then closed on a 50-33 run that gave the team a 95-54 win in the end. Topping the scorers was Cameron Boozer with 25 points, eight boards and five assists in 23 minutes. Cayden Boozer had a solid game as well with 14 points, seven rebounds and five assists. Patrick Ngongba added 10 points with seven rebounds as well, while Maliq Brown reached double-figures on 10 points and four rebounds in 17 minutes.
Army Black Knights Betting Preview
Over on the Army side, they kicked off their season with a matchup versus SUNY Maritime. The Knights were up 36-27 by the end of the first half, then rode a 37-22 run on the way to a blowout win 73-47. Topping the scorers on the team was Kevin McCarthy with 18 points and three boards. Jackson Furman added 17 points with three rebounds, and Jacen Holloway put up 13 points, three rebounds and one assist in 24 minutes during the victory effort.
On Saturday versus St. Thomas MN, the Black Knights were down 44-29 by the end of the first half. Army came back on a 47-39 advantage from there but couldn’t crawl out of the hole and lost 83-76 in the end. Tops in scoring were Jacen Holloway (four rebounds) and Join Iverson (seven rebounds) each with 16 points. Kevin McCarthy added 14 points and one board, while Jackson Furman had 15 points and two rebounds in just 12 minutes during the loss.

Duke vs Army Prediction
I’ll lean toward Duke. The Blue Devils are coming off a pretty routine win over Western Carolina this past weekend, hitting 46.9 percent from the field with 50 rebounds, 21 team assists and a 40-28 edge in the paint. Duke held the Catamounts to just 30.6 percent shooting on the other side and 14.8 percent (4-of-27) from 3-point range. That makes a combined 170 points in two victories so far for the Blue Devils this year, and they’re heading into another manageable matchup on Tuesday.
As for Army, they gave up quite a bit on defense to the Tommies in their latest loss: specifically 50 percent shooting from the field and a 50-28 deficit on points in the paint. The Black Knights shot 43.5 percent from the field themselves and had 11 turnovers in the seven-point defeat. Unless they can tighten things up on the front side of their offense, I don’t see Army getting too many second-chance opportunities or easy foul shots here.
