Northeastern Huskies Betting Preview
Over on the Huskies’ side, they were just 5-8 over the first 13 games of the year then fell to Campbell, UNC Wilmington and Towson before another win over Elon. Losses to Monmouth, Stony Brook, Drexel, Charleston, Hofstra, Stony Brook and William & Mary came in the next seven outings, though. Over the first 24 games the Huskies have put a 6-18 record into the books.
In their game versus William & Mary last week, the Huskies were in trouble on a 45-34 deficit by the break. Northeastern didn’t get any closer than that, taking a 49-33 run the rest of the way in a 94-67 loss on their home floor. Xavier Abreu was tops on 24 points with three boards in the losing effort, and Ryan Williams chipped in 15 points with five assists and one rebound.

I’ll lean toward Drexel. The Dragons shot pretty well (44.8 percent) and had a 36-25 rebounding advantage on the road against a pretty solid Stony Brook team on Monday. Drexel made just eight free throws though, compared to the Seawolves’ 16 makes. The 16 turnovers didn’t help either. Drexel has lost consecutive games now, and they’ve given up 72 or more points in three straight outings.
Back on January 24 in the last meeting between these two teams, Drexel secured an 83-78 victory at home. In that matchup the Dragons shot 50 percent from the field with a 31-27 rebounding edge and just seven turnovers. Drexel did give up 46.8 percent shooting from the field on defense though, which made the finish a little closer than it probably should have been. The Dragons have some cleaning up to do before the road rematch but I think they’ll be okay.
