Drexel Dragons Betting Preview
The Dragons have been pretty busy so far this year; they’ve got seven games in the bag already. Drexel kicked things off with a 93-59 win over Widener in their opener, but then lost three straight. Those defeats came courtesy of Saint Joseph’s 76-65, Colgate 90-83 and Syracuse 80-50. The Dragons finally got back into the win column 75-43 over NJIT, but then lost game six versus Penn by a score of 84-68.
The Dragons played Old Dominion in their latest outing on Sunday. Drexel went into the second half with a 35-34 edge, then scored 40 more points during a 75-71 win. Leading the team in scoring was Josh Reed with 18 points and three assists. Kevon Vanderhorst added 16 points, and Shane Blakeney had 15 points with four rebounds in 32 minutes of work in the win.
Morgan State Bears Betting Preview
Over on the Bears’ side, they’ve managed to play six games so far this year—with mixed results. Morgan State opened with a loss to Georgetown 87-70 but then beat Central Penn in game two 101-77. Game three was a loss 81-79 versus UMBC, then came another defeat 86-72 versus Mercyhurst in game four. After that, Morgan State dropped another one 79-73 versus North Carolina A&T for a limp 1-4 run through their first five outings.
In Friday’s matchup with Old Dominion, Morgan State put up another defeat. The Bears were down 43-26 by the second half and ended up limping to an 88-56 result. The only player on the team to finish in double-figures for anything was Elijah Davis with 12 points, three rebounds and three assists in 35 minutes. Christian Meeks added nine points with nine rebounds in 30 minutes during the losing effort.

Drexel vs Morgan State Prediction
I’ll probably just stay with Drexel. There’s not a lot to get excited about in this one, though. The Dragons are coming off a pretty solid all-around win versus Old Dominion this past weekend. Drexel managed 44.6 percent shooting, 36 rebounds, 13 team assists and a 28-26 advantage in the paint alongside just 11 turnovers. The Dragons now have 68 or more points in three straight, with 75 or more points in two of those (both wins).
As for Morgan State, they shot a limp 35.6 percent from the field and 16.7 percent (3-of-18) from outside along with 11-of-20 (55 percent) from the line in their latest loss to ODU. The Bears only had 10 turnovers though, and didn’t play too badly up front. Still, 56 points isn’t going to do it in most games. Morgan State should score better here but I don’t think they’ll cover.
