Denver Pioneers Betting Preview
It’s been a pretty rough year so far for the Pioneers, but to be fair they’ve played a few difficult games. Denver lost their first two appearances versus Seattle U and Washington, then got their first win by two points over Montana State. Another loss came in game four versus UTSA ahead of a win over Colorado State. In their latest appearance the Pioneers took a big loss to a very good Arizona team, dropping Denver to just 2-4 on the year through a half dozen games.
On Monday in the Arizona matchup, the Pioneers were blitzed 56-28 in the first half. Denver stayed close in the second half but didn’t improve the deficit, eventually falling 103-73. Carson Johnson led the team in the losing effort with 18 points and two assists. The only other team player to make double-figures was Zane Nelson with 17 points and three rebounds.
Wyoming Cowboys Betting Preview
Over on the Wyoming side, they’ve got a half-dozen games in the books so far this year as well, with only one blemish mixed in there. The Cowboys kicked things off on a four-game win streak, beating Northern State, Cal State Fullerton, Austin Peay and Portland. After an eight-point loss to Sam Houston, Wyoming bounced back with a victory over Norfolk State. The Cowboys have a 5-1 run so far through six games with that effort.
Matched up versus Norfolk State on Sunday, the Cowboys held a 39-23 edge by halftime. Wyoming was outscored from there 44-36 but still won pretty comfortably 75-67 in the end. Adam Harakow was tops on 18 points with five boards in 26 minutes. Both Damarion Dennis (two rebounds; three assists) and Leland Walker (seven rebounds; three assists) turned in 15 points during the victory as well.

Denver vs Wyoming Prediction
I’ll probably just stick with Wyoming here. The Cowboys were able to bounce back from their loss to Sam Houston well with a weekend win versus a middling Norfolk State team. Not everything was perfect however, as Wyoming shot just 38.2 percent from the field and had 13 turnovers. The dominant 37-24 edge on the boards and a pretty solid 77.4 percent (24-of-31) from the line helped keep the Spartans at bay. Wyoming is scoring well this season overall; they’ve hit the 70-point mark in all six games so far.
As for Denver, they weren’t going to finish anywhere close to Arizona in their last game—and they didn’t. The Pioneers were out-rebounded 47-22 and had a 50-22 deficit on points in the paint while shooting a tepid 40 percent from the field alongside 14 turnovers. The good news is that Denver has been putting up some nice points totals themselves this season, with at least 70 points in every game as well. The Pioneers are surrendering a lot of scoring to solid offenses thus far, though.
