Columbia Offense Looks to Bounce Back

Columbia faced off against Dartmouth in the last game and they didn’t play well enough. The offense scored only 56 points while the defense gave up 78 points. This is a team that has been known for their offense, but on Friday night they couldn’t get anything. Kenny Noland had a strong game, putting up 19 points, three rebounds, and two assists. Gerald O’Keefe also had a strong game putting up 13 points, three rebounds, and three assists. Two games ago against Brown, they were able to secure a 74-72 victory.

Columbia currently sits with a 12-9 record overall. Columbia is averaging 81.3 points while their defense is giving up 75.2 points per game. The offense is ranked 34th in the league while the defense is ranked 277th. They are averaging 17.75 assists per game which is 11th in the league. Geronimo Rubio De La Rosa has been the top player for Columbia this season and he’s averaging 18 points while shooting 48.5 percent from the field and 41.7 percent from behind the three-point line.

Harvard Pulled it Out Late

Harvard didn’t play the most dominant game on Friday, but they made enough baskets late to win. Harvard faced off against Cornell and they were able to secure a 75-73 victory. Thomas Battties II had a strong game putting up 21 points, five rebounds, and four assists. There were four different players that put up at least 12 points to help pace the team. Two games ago against Dartmouth, they didn’t play as well, and they didn’t end up losing 76-56.

Harvard is averaging 67.2 points while their defense is giving up 72.8 points per game. The offense is ranked 333rd in the league while the defense is ranked 222nd. The offense has been far too inconsistent for this team, and to finish the season strong, the offense needs to become more consistent. Robert Hinton has been the top player for Harvard, averaging 14.1 points while shooting 47.8 percent from the field and 36.4 percent from behind the three-point line.

Columbia vs Harvard Prediction

Columbia lost on Friday while Harvard won, but in this game, the opposite is going to end up happening. Even though Columbia’s offense wasn’t good on Friday, they are still elite, averaging 81.3 points per game, and they are going to have no issue running up the score here. Harvard’s offense is going to be the offense that struggles here, and that will be the difference here, as Columbia is going to get the job done here. Back Columbia against the spread to cash.

Shane Mickle's Pick: Columbia +1.5
