Colorado State Rams Betting Preview

Back on January 20, the Rams had a 12-7 record in the books. After that came a losing streak versus Utah State, San Diego State and Wyoming. Colorado State then hit a seven-game win streak. Those victories have come against San Jose State, Air Force, Wyoming, UNLV, San Diego State, Fresno State and San Jose State. That gives the Rams a 19-10 overall record.

On Saturday versus San Jose State, the Rams came onto the floor in the second half with a five-point lead 42-37. Colorado State kept it up from there, notching a 43-36 run the rest of the way in an eventual 85-73 victory on the road. Leading the team in scoring was Brandon Rechsteiner with 20 points and four rebounds. Carey Booth added 15 points and five boards.

New Mexico Lobos Betting Preview

Over on the New Mexico side, they were sitting at 14-4 through their first 18 games of the season back on January 17. Wins over Fresno State, Nevada, UNLV, San Jose State, Grand Canyon, Air Force and Fresno State came in the next nine outings. Following a loss to Nevada, New Mexico took out San Diego State for a 22-7 overall run in the books over the first 29 games.

Matched up abasing San Diego State last weekend the Lobos were sitting in the locker room looking up at a 37-36 deficit on the scoreboard. New Mexico got it together in the second half for a 45-39 run and eventually powered out the win on their home court 81-76 as the game came to a close. Top scorer Tomislav Buljan had 24 points with 18 rebounds for a double-double.

Colorado State vs New Mexico Prediction

I’ll take a stab on Colorado State but you could argue this one either way. The Rams posted a stellar offensive display in their win over San Jose State last weekend, shooting 62.2 percent from the field with 83.3 percent (20-of-24) at the line and 9-of-17 (52.9 percent) from 3-point range. Colorado State added a 28-19 rebounding advantage as well. The Rams have won seven straight games now, and they’re gelling very well on the court.

Back on January 6 when these teams last met up, Colorado State took a 10-point home loss 80-70. In that game the Rams shot 45.8 percent from the field with 81.8 percent (9-of-11) from the line and 11 turnovers. Colorado State gave up 52.8 percent shooting to a hot Lobos squad in the defeat. This is the chance for the Rams to get some revenge, but it won’t be easy on the road.

Andrew Jett's Pick: Colorado State Rams +8.5
