The Colgate Raiders and the Washington Huskies meet Monday in college basketball action from the Alaska Airlines Arena. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for this game.
Colgate Raiders vs. Washington Huskies Prediction
I’m on Colgate and the points in this one. I just think that Washington’s getting the power conference rub here and Colgate is one of those mid-major programs that deserves the respect as they’ve been able to compete in past spots and I look for them to battle the Huskies here and keep this one close. Give me the Raiders and the points.
Colgate Raiders Team Preview
The Colgate Raiders come into the 2026-27 season looking to build on a decent 2025-26 campaign where the Raiders went 18-15 overall including an 11-7 mark in Patriot League Play. The Raiders would knock off Loyola Maryland in the quarterfinals before falling to Lehigh in the semifinals, ending Colgate’s season. The good news for Colgate is that they bring back a pair of double-digit scorers from last year’s team, including Andrew Alekseyenko (14.8 PPG, 6.7 RPG) and Sam Wright (12.3 PPG, 4.4 RPG). The Raiders’ long-standing run as the cream of the crop in the Patriot League could be coming to an end, but this Colgate team will be battle tested and a tough out in the Patriot League this season regardless.
Why the Colgate Raiders will win
Washington has lost the first half in each of its last five games.
Washington Huskies Team Preview
The Washington Huskies come into the 2026-27 campaign looking to take another step forward this year after an improvement in 2025-26, finishing at 17-18 overall including 7-13 in Big Ten play. Washington would take out USC in the second round of the Big Ten tournament before losing to Wisconsin in the third round, ending their season. Washington returns Wesley Yates (12.7 PPG, 3.3 RPG) from last year’s team, but hit the transfer portal hard, nabbing LeJuan Watts (11.8 PPG, 6 RPG, 2.4 APG) from Texas Tech and Ryan Beasley (13.6 PPG, 3.4 RPG, 4 APG) from San Francisco. Only time will tell if these improvements can help Washington take another step forward in 2026-27.
Why the Washington Huskies will win
Washington has won 17 of its last 18 games against non-Conference opponents at Alaska Airlines Arena at Hec Edmundson Pavilion.
Colgate has lost each of its last three road games.
The home team has won the first half in five of Colgate’s last six games.
