Coastal Carolina Chanticleers Betting Preview
The Chanticleers kicked off their year with a 4-2 run with wins over Virginia-Lynchburg, Winthrop, Western Illinois and North Dakota in that stretch of games. The next six games were a 2-4 result, however. Coastal Carolina beat Alabama A&M and Winthrop in that time with losses otherwise versus Illinois State, South Carolina Upstate, Grand Canyon and App State. That would make for a 6-6 record across the first 12 outings.
In the Old Dominion matchup on Saturday, the Chanticleers headed into the locker room with a 34-29 advantage. Coastal Carolina posted a 45-42 deficit the rest of the way but held on for the win 76-74 in the end. Rasheed Jones led the team on 23 points with four rebounds and Josh Beadle added 19 points with four assists and two rebounds in the winning effort.
Saint Josephs’ Hawks Betting Preview
Over on the Hawks’ side, they beat Lafayette and Drexel in their first pair before losses to Virginia Tech, Penn and UNLV. It’s been a 5-1 stretch since then with a loss to Syracuse amid wins over Rutgers-Camden, Princeton, Temple, Coppin State and Delaware State. Over the first 11 games so far that gives Saint Joseph’s a 7-4 overall record this season.
Matched up against Delaware State back on Thursday, the Hawks were ahead comfortably 33-18 by the break. Saint Joseph’s scored 34 more points from there in a 67-51 win. Leading the team in scoring was Austin Williford with 14 points, six rebounds and two assists. Khaafiq Myers added 11 points with three boards and three assists in the winning effort for the Hawks as well.
Coastal Carolina Chanticleers @ Saint Joseph’s Hawks Betting Trends: December 22, 2025
Why the Saint Joseph’s Hawks will win
- Saint Joseph’s has won 11 of its last 12 games at Michael J. Hagan Arena against non-AP-ranked opponents.
- Coastal Carolina has lost each of its last three night games.
Coastal Carolina vs Saint Joseph’s Prediction
I’ll lean toward the Hawks. Saint Joseph’s got past Delaware State pretty easily last week, hitting 39.3 percent from the field with 44 rebounds and a 32-24 edge on points in the paint. The free throws could have been better though (11-of-18 for 61.1 percent) and Saint Joseph’s did have 12 turnovers. The Hawks have dipped below 68 points three times during this current 5-1 stretch, so I’d like to see them hit the 70-point mark in this one.
As for Coastal Carolina, they were able to eke by a spotty Old Dominion team in their last game despite shooting just 40 percent from the field and 17.6 percent (3-of-17) from outside. Still, the 76 points were a nice total after scoring just 110 combined points in the previous pair of games (both losses). The Chanticleers need to get that shooting percentage up for St. Joseph’s, though.
