Chicago State Cougars Betting Preview
Needless to say, the Cougars have had a pretty tough year so far. Chicago State opened on a futile run, and they’ve only recently found a couple of wins. During their 0-15 start the Cougars fell to Loyola Chicago, Youngstown State, Texas, San Francisco, Eastern Kentucky, Indiana State, Radford, Drexel, Wisconsin, St Thomas Minnesota, Saint Louis, Mercer, Grand Canyon, Cal State Northridge and Illinois in succession. A 2-2 run came next with wins over Wagner and Le Moyne sandwiched around losses to LIU and Stonehill. Since then it’s been two more losses to Fairleigh Dickinson and Stonehill, giving the Cougars a 2-19 overall record so far.
In the Stonehill rematch back on Friday, the Cougars came out of the locker room sporting a 35-29 deficit. Chicago State got better from there on a 44-40 run but still lost a tough one on the road 75-73. Leading the scoring during the defeat was Gabe Spinelli with 25 points, four rebounds, and two assists. Jalen Forrest added 23 points with four turnovers and three rebounds, while Troy McKoy put up 11 bench points with five rebounds in 29 minutes.
Central Connecticut State Blue Devils Betting Preview
Over on the Central Connecticut side, they’ve had a lot more success this season. The Blue Devils’ campaign didn’t start out very well however, as they lost three of their first five games versus Providence, Northeastern, and Sacred Heart. A nice 9-1 stretch came over the next 10 outings, though. The lone loss was to Rhode Island. Otherwise, it was wins over Binghamton, UMass Lowell, UMass, Holy Cross, Fairfield, Quinnipiac, Johnson & Wales RI, St Francis PA, and Mercyhurst. Following two more losses to Wagner and Long Island U, the Blue Devils took wins over Fairleigh Dickinson and Le Moyne for a 13-6 run through the first 19 outings so far.
Matched up against Le Moyne in their Friday game, the Blue Devils were ahead comfortably by the break 45-33. Central Connecticut kept the heat on in the second half, notching a 48-37 run on the way to a 93-70 blowout win. Leading the team in scoring during the victory was Devin Haid with 20 points and four boards. Abdul Momoh notched a double-double with 14 points, 10 rebounds and three assists in 22 minutes of work as well.

Chicago State vs Central Connecticut Prediction
I’m staying with Central Connecticut. There’s not a lot to get excited about here unless you’re a fan of the Blue Devils, though. The line’s not super inviting either. CCSU is coming off a fairly dominant performance against a struggling Le Moyne team, hitting 55.4 percent from the field with a nice 41-26 rebounding advantage and just eight turnovers. It was a pretty great all-around road victory. Central Connecticut has a combined 164 points in their last two games, which is a nice turnaround after a combined 109 points in a pair of losses prior to those.
As for Chicago State, they’ve been scoring better lately with 73 or more points in two of the last three games (a 1-2 run). The Cougars don’t normally hang a ton of points on the scoreboard though, so Central Connecticut should be in good shape at home here. That said, the line’s a little too thick to mess with.
