At halftime, against Wichita State, they were down 31-28, and in the second half, they couldn’t bounce back. Rice shot only 20 percent from deep, and hitting more shots from deep is going to be a major key here. Kellen Amos was the top player, putting up 12 points, two rebounds, and one assist. 

Rice sits with a 13-18 record overall. Rice is averaging 70.6 points while their defense is giving up 70.5 points per game. The defense could be worse, but it’s pretty clear they are going to need to find a way to get the offense going here early. Trae Broadnax has been Rice’s top player this season, averaging 12.2 points while shooting 40.1 percent from the field and 29.6 percent from behind the three-point line.

The Rice offense has been so ice-cold the last couple of games, and I am not just ready to assume they are going to break out here. Charlotte’s offense has been strong overall this season, averaging 71.1 points per game. This might not be the prettiest game, but I am not just about to start laying points with this Rice squad. We could take those points to be safe, but there is a lot of value in the plus money with the 49ers, and we can’t pass that up. Back Charlotte on the money line to cash.
