The Buccaneers managed a 5-3 record over their first eight games this year. The losses were versus Virginia Tech, Alabama A&M and Lindenwood. Otherwise it was wins over Toccoa Falls, the Citadel, IUPUI, East Carolina and Piedmont. After losses to South Carolina and Tennessee-Martin, the Bucs beat Warren Wilson and South Carolina State in the next pair. That would give Charleston Southern a 7-5 record across their first dozen games this year.
On Thursday versus North Florida, Charleston Southern went into the second half with a 55-41 advantage. The Bucs closed with a 58-49 run from there and took the win in the end 113-90. Charleston Southern vs Furman Prediction
I’ll stay with Furman but you could call this one either way. The Paladins shot a nice 50 percent from the field in their win over Manhattan along with a 38-35 rebounding edge, 20 team assists and a 38-26 advantage on points in the paint. It wasn’t all perfect though, as Furman went an ugly 5-of-14 (35.7 percent) from the line and had 17 turnovers. The Paladins have won four straight games with 75 or more points scored in each of those victories.
As for Charleston Southern, they didn’t have too many issues against a struggling North Florida team in their last game. The Bucs hit 56.9 percent from the field with a 33-25 rebounding advantage and 24 team assists, but did get outmuscled in the paint by 10 points. Charleston Southern is now on a three-game win streak themselves with 84 or more points scored in all three of those.
