Central Michigan vs LA-Monroe Prediction

I’ll take a stab on Central Michigan but I’m probably not touching it. The Chippewas have seven returnees from last season’s (disappointing) campaign, so the chemistry and familiarity should be there from the start this time. Central Michigan has their work cut out for them, as the main goal will be to return to the MAC Tournament. They’ve only been there once in the last four years.

As for LA-Monroe, they  really have nowhere to go but up. Finishing anywhere better than in last place among the conference should be the team’s first goal, but the good news is that it’s doable. The Warhawks do have a pretty rough schedule in the early-going, so we’ll be able to see what this team is made of soon enough.

Central Michigan Chippewas Betting Preview

The Chippewas didn’t have a great season in 2025-26, going just 10-21 overall with a 6-12 stretch in Mid-American Conference matchups. Central Michigan finished ahead of only Western Michigan, Northern Illinois and Eastern Michigan with that result and failed to qualify for the conference tournament.

This year the Chippewas enter the second season for head coach Andy Bronkema. Central Michigan does get two of its starting five players back this year, namely Phat Phat Brooks and junior forward Keenan Garner (7.5 PPG). Brooks transitioned to point guard last season and wound up scoring 11.0 PPG with 2.9 RPG and 3.9 APG.

LA-Monroe Warhawks Betting Preview

Over on the Warhawks’ side, they had an even worse campaign a season ago. LA-Monroe went just 4-28 overall with a 1-17 run in Sun Belt matchups. That effort left the Warhawks firmly in last place among the conference, six games behind Old Dominion, Louisiana and Georgia State. LA-Monroe lost to the Monarchs in the first round of the conference tournament.

This season LA-Monroe will hit the reset button again with the addition of new head coach Ryan Cross. He’ll start with a clean slate, as none of the starters are returning from last year’s team. Of the players coming in for Cross’ first campaign however, only one has averaged double-digits in a Division I season.
