Central Arkansas Bears Betting Preview
The Bears had a tricky matchup on the road versus North Carolina in their opener this year, and things didn’t go too well. Central Arkansas was down 51-23 by the end of the half and didn’t get closer on a 43-31 run from there in a 94-54 blowout loss. Nobody on the team made it to double-figures, but Cole McConnell got close on nine points and four boards in 20 minutes. Three different players scored eight points apiece in the futile effort as well.
Game two versus Champion Christian on Saturday was a much easier matchup for Central Arkansas. The Bears were up 53-38 at the half and cruised on another 57 points from there in a 110-63 blowout win at home. Ty Robinson topped the scorers this time with 17 points, four rebounds and three assists while Camren Hunter had 13 points, four assists and two rebounds. Cole McConnell added 12 points with four boards in just 14 minutes of work during the win.
Arkansas Razorbacks Betting Preview
Over on the Arkansas side, they opened the season on Monday versus Southern in a home matchup, and it wasn’t close. The Razorbacks jumped out to a 57-32 edge by halftime, then finished on a 52-45 run for a 109-77 blowout finish. Leading the scoring was Trevon Brazile, who doubled up on 25 points and 11 rebounds. Darius Acuff added 22 points with four assists and two boards, while Meleek Thomas had 21 points with six rebounds and seven assists in 29 minutes of work on the floor during the home victory.
In game two, Arkansas took on a very good Michigan State team in a road game Saturday. The Razorbacks were up by three points at the break, then faltered on a 33-27 run the rest of the way during a 69-66 loss in the end. Topping the team with 16 points each were Darius Acuff (six assists; two rebounds) and Meleek Thomas (six rebounds; two assists). The only other team player to finish in double-figures was Dajuan Wagner with 13 points, three assists and two rebounds in 31 minutes of work on the floor during the defeat.

Central Arkansas vs Arkansas Prediction
I’ll stick with Arkansas here. The Razorbacks lost some steam in the second half against a very good Michigan State team over the weekend and couldn’t score well enough to overcome the deficit. Arkansas shot just 39.3 percent from the field and 15-of-23 (65.2 percent) from the line alongside a 39-31 rebounding deficit. The killer stat however, was the 46-28 points deficit in the paint—and the 14 turnovers didn’t help either. The Spartans shot just 1-of-14 (7.1 percent) from outside but Arkansas wasn’t great in that regard themselves (7-of-28 for 25 percent).
As for Central Arkansas, they’ve got one blowout loss and one blowout win on the card so far. In the victory over Champion Christian, the Bears dominated with 52.5 percent shooting and a 52-24 rebounding edge alongside 48 points in the paint and 22 team assists. Tuesday’s game is obviously going to be a much more difficult proposition though, and I don’t think Central Arkansas will get anywhere close.
