Bucknell Bison Betting Preview

In their opener this year, the Bison played Delaware as part of last Monday’s slate. The Bison entered the break with a 34-28 edge, then cruised on a 44-42 run the rest of the way in a 78-70 victory. Leading the scorers was Amon Dorries with 20 points and five rebounds in 23 minutes. Ruot Bikiek added 14 points with seven rebounds, and Jayden Williams had 13 points with six assists and four boards in 34 minutes of action in the win.

In game two, the Bison played Mount St. Mary’s in a Friday matchup. Bucknell took an eight-point lead into the break, then hit a 35-32 run the rest of the way in order to power out a 73-62 win in the end. Tops in scoring were Ruot Bijiek with 15 points and four boards, and Amon Dorries with 15 points and three rebounds. Jayden Williams added 12 points with five assists and six rebounds, while Achile Spadone had 11 points with five boards in 28 minutes of work.

Princeton Tigers Betting Preview

Over on the Princeton side, they failed to match the heights of the 2023-24 season last year, falling to a 19-11 overall record with an 8-6 run in the Ivy League. That would leave Princeton behind Yale, Cornell and Dartmouth in the standings for a fourth-place finish. The Tigers had a rocky end to the regular season, losing four of their final seven games (but winning three of their final five). In the Ivy League Tournament, Princeton fell in their first outing versus Yale on March 15, ending their season for good.

Princeton has just one game in the books so far this year, a Saturday matchup versus Akron on the road. That one didn’t go well, as the Tigers were down 47-27 by the end of the first half. Princeton was outscored 57-42 the rest of the way, resulting in a 104-69 blowout loss. Leading the scoring in the losing effort was Jackson Hicke with 15 points, two rebounds and two assists. Dalen Davis also landed in double-figures, logging 11 points with two rebounds and two assists during 28 minutes on the floor in the loss.

Bucknell vs Princeton Prediction

I’ll likely just stick with Bucknell. The Bison are doing pretty well through two games so far and coming off a pretty decent road win over Mount St. Mary’s—despite getting out-rebounded 36-28. Bucknell could have been better from the line (15-of-23 for 65.2 percent) but didn’t shoot too badly overall (43.1 percent) and had just four turnovers. In their two outings so far this year, Bucknell has scored a combined 151 points, and I like them to keep it going on Tuesday.

As for Princeton, they didn’t look great in too many capacities in their loss to Akron over the weekend. The Tigers shot just 35.4 percent from the field with a 42-32 rebounding deficit and 15 turnovers. Princeton was outscored 40-24 in the paint and missed seven of their 20 free throw attempts (65 percent). The game was basically over by the break, as Akron shot a nice 50.7 percent from the field. I don’t think the Tigers will do too much damage here either.

Andrew Jett's Pick: Bucknell Bison +4.5
