Bucknell vs Maryland Prediction
I’ll take a stab on Bucknell here. The Bison are coming off a pretty disappointing season, but to be fair they were competitive down the stretch after a few tweaks to the game plan. Bucknell does have a pretty tricky non-conference schedule in 2026-27, though. They’ll be playing six teams that reached the NCAA Tournament last season. If the 3-point shooting and defense go well however, Bucknell could be competitive this year.
As for Maryland, they’re doing quite a bit of retooling in an effort to stand out in a very tough conference this season. The Terrapins do have some intriguing names on the roster though, including Wagner and junior Bishop Boswell, who managed 6.2 PPG at Tennessee. It won’t be a huge challenge to outdo their record from last year if all goes well.

Bucknell Bison Betting Preview
Last season wasn’t a great one for the Bison. Bucknell finished just 10-23 overall with a 6-12 result in Patriot League games. The Bison landed ahead of only two teams (Army and Holy Cross) among the standings with that effort after being picked to finish fifth in preseason. Bucknell beat Army before a loss to Navy in the conference tourney.
This season the Bison will have John Griffin back on the sideline for his fourth year. Griffin has gone a tepid 42-57 over his tenure so far. The good news is that he’ll have junior Jayden Williams back. Wiliams managed 7.5 PPG last season and started all 33 games. Jacob Meachem will help guide the Bison on the defensive side, setting the tone for the team.
Maryland Terrapins Betting Preview
Over on the Maryland side, they got lost among a very competitive Big Ten group last season. The Terrapins went just 12-24 overall with a 4-16 run in the conference, putting the team ahead of only Penn State (3-17) in the standings. In the Big Ten Tournament, Maryland managed to beat Oregon before falling to Iowa in the second round.
The Terrapins will have head coach Buzz Williams back in the fold this season for his second year. The focus for the team this season is to find multiple reliable scorers who can guide the offense. One name who may be able to help with that is transfer DJ Wagner, who managed 7.4 PPG at Arkansas.
