Over on the Lafayette side, they limped to a 3-7 record in their first 10 games of the season. The Leopards won just one of their next eight games, taking out only Loyola MD in a road matchup back on January 3. After a win over Holy Cross, Lafayette has fallen back into the loss column in the last pair, recording defeats versus Boston U and Lehigh. In 21 games the Leopards have a 5-16 run.
Matched up against Lehigh on Saturday, the Leopards were trailing 38-22 by the end of the first half. Lafayette got much better from there however, hitting a 37-26 run. It wasn’t enough though, as the Leopards ended up falling on the road in a 64-59 finish. Caleb Williams posted 18 points with five rebounds to lead the team, and Mark Butler had 14 points with three rebounds and three assists.

I’ll lean toward Bucknell but I’m probably not touching this one. There’s not much to get excited about here with both teams struggling, but it should be a competitive game nonetheless. The Bison shot just 40.7 percent from the field and 22.2 percent (6-of-27) in their latest loss to Loyola MD, but they did well on points in the paint with a 32-16 advantage. Bucknell is 0-3 in their last three games, giving up 87 or more points in two of them.
The last time these teams saw each other was back on January 14 in a 76-69 home win for the Bison. Bucknell shot a nice 51 percent from the field in that one with a 30-22 rebounding edge but did cough up 14 turnovers. If the Bison can cut down on the mistakes in the road rematch they should be okay.
