In the Northern Iowa game on Saturday the Braves entered the second half with a 40-37 edge. Bradley kept it up from there on a 35-32 run and took the eventual win 75-69. Topping the scorers was Jaquan Johnson with 17 points, six boards and five assists. Ahmet Jonovic had 16 points with nine boards and Alex Huibregtse added 10 points with five rebounds and four assists in the winning effort.
Evansville Purple Aces Betting Preview
Over on the Evansville side, they also had a rough start this year. The Aces beat only Calumet, Oakland City, Oregon State and Ball State in their first nine games. Evansville would lose to Western Kentucky, Notre Dame, Belmont, Drake, Bradley, Illinois State, Northern Iowa and Murray State over the next eight games, then came a win over Indiana State. That makes for a 5-13 record in the first 18 games so far.
In the Saturday matchup versus Indiana State, the Aces were in the locker room with a three-point deficit 38-35. Evansville closed on a 37-31 run however, taking the comeback win in the end on the road 72-69. Leif Moller posted 17 points with eight boards and eight assists in the victory, while AJ Casey had 17 points with three rebounds. Joshua Hughes added 14 points with six rebounds as well.

I’ll lean toward Bradley. The Braves didn’t shoot spectacularly in their win over Northern Iowa this past weekend, notching 43.1 percent from the field and 64.3 percent (18-of-28) from the line. That said, Bradley put up a 40-32 rebounding edge and had just five turnovers in the winning effort. The Braves have won nine of their last 11 games, scoring 73 or more points in eight of those victories.
These teams last saw each other on December 29 in a home win for Bradley 76-68. In that one the Braves shot just 40.6 percent from the field but had a 40-36 rebounding edge and once again did well from the line on 81 percent (17-of-21) there. The five turnovers (to the Aces’ 11) helped quite a bit as well. Bradley needs to get that shooting percentage up in the road rematch but I think they’ve got a good cover shot.
