Virginia Has Issues

Coming into the season, most knew that Virginia might have some issues, and so far that has proved to be the case. Virginia has a losing record, and they were knocked off again in the last game. Virginia faced off against the Louisville Cardinals and they scored 67 points, but the defense gave up 71 points and that led to the defeat. At halftime, they were down 39-28 and in the second half, they couldn’t bounce back. Elijah Saunders did have a strong game putting up 19 points, 10 rebounds, and one assist.

Virginia currently sits with an 8-10 record overall and they have gone 7-11 against the spread. Virginia is averaging 6.13 points while their defense is giving up 64.4 points per game. The offense is ranked 360th in the league while the defense is ranked 25th in the league. Elijah Saunders has been the top player for Virginia this season averaging 12.1 points while shooting 45.4 percent from the field.

Boston College is Struggling

Boston College is struggling heading into this game and they have lost four games in a row. Two games ago against Notre Dame, Boston College was defeated 78-60, and in the last game against Duke, they lost 88-63. Boston College shot 44.9 percent from the field and 33.3 percent from behind the three-point line. Forward Chad Venning had a strong game putting up 19 points, three rebounds, and one assist.

Boston College sits with a 9-9 record overall and they have gone 612 against the spread. Boston College is averaging 70.2 points while their defense is giving up 73.9 points per game. The offense is ranked 284th while the defense is ranked 255th. They are averaging 57.56 field goals attempted per game which is 246th in the league. Guard Donald Hand Jr is having a strong season and is averaging 14.7 points while shooting 38.1 percent from the field. Boston College will play against North Carolina following this one.

Why Boson College Will Beat Virginia

  • Virginia has lost seven of its last eight games against Conference opponents.

Boston College vs Virginia Prediction

These are both teams that haven’t been very good this season, and I don’t really have an interest in trusting either of these teams. That being said,  just don’t really trust this Virginia team, even at home. Virginia is averaging only 61.3 points per game and their offense isn’t going to be good enough here. Boston College’s offense might not run up the score, but they are going to score enough to cover the spread. Back Boston College against the spread.

Shane Mickle's Pick: Boston College +8
