Bethune-Cookman Wildcats Betting Preview

It’s been a pretty tricky season for the Wildcats so far. They’ve only got a couple of wins on the card through seven games. Bethune-Cookman opened with consecutive losses versus Aubrun and Miami, then beat Coastal Georgia in a blowout before a loss to Dayton and another win over Ohio. The Wildcats have since taken two more consecutive losses to Jacksonville and Stony Brook. That gives Bethune-Cookman a 2-5 record overall this season so far.

Back on Tuesday versus Stony Brook, the Wildcats were looking good at halftime on a 30-19 advantage. Bethune-Cookman was outscored 42-24 the rest of the way however, resulting in a 61-54 loss in the end. Leading the team in the losing effort was Quentin Heady with 22 points and six boards. The only other player on the team to make it to double-figures was Daniel Rouzan with 10 points and one rebound in 20 minutes of work.

Indiana Hoosiers Betting Preview

Over on the Indiana side, they’ve gotten through a half-dozen games this year without a blemish on the card. The Hoosiers kicked things off with a win over Alabama A&M then took out Marquette in game two. Indiana followed up with a couple more wins over Milwaukee and Incarnate Word from there, then beat Lindenwood. In their latest outing the Hoosiers kept it going with another win over Kansas State. That gives Indiana a 6-0 run across their first six outings so far.

Matched up against Kansas State on Tuesday, the Hoosiers were up 39-27 going into the second half. Indiana hit a 47-42 run from there and secured the win 86-69 in the end. Tops in scoring was Reed Bailey with 21 points, four rebounds and two assists. Tayton Conerway added 19 points with four rebounds and two assists while Lamar Wilkerson put up 14 points with four rebounds in the winning effort.

Why the Indiana Hoosiers will win

Bethune-Cookman vs Indiana Prediction

I’ll stay with Indiana I suppose. The Hoosiers played pretty well versus a decent Kansas State team in their last outing, hitting 47.4 percent from the field with 22-of-29 (75.9 percent) from the line alongside a 32-25 rebounding edge. Indiana did have 16 turnovers, but the Wildcats’ 19 miscues helped cancel those out. That gives the Hoosiers a nice 69 or more points in all six games so far this year. Indiana should score pretty well here also.

As for B-CU, they had a rough second half in their loss to a solid Stony Brook team this week. The Wildcats shot just 30 percent from the field and 2-of-12 (16.7 percent) from the line in the defeat, but did notch 43 rebounds along the way. That makes a combined 118 points in the last two games for Bethune-Cookman, who will likely have a tough time keeping pace with the Hoosiers here.
