Tops in scoring were Nic McClain (seven assists) and Tyler Lundblade, each with 17 points. Sam Orme chipped in 16 points with three rebounds and two assists in the winning effort for the Bruins as well.
Evansville Purple Aces Betting Preview
Over on the Evansville side, they opened the year on a 3-3 run with losses to Purdue, Middle Tennessee and Texas-Arlington. The Aces beat Calumet, Oakland City and Oregon State otherwise in that time. Evansville has since gone 1-4 with a lone win over Ball State. Following losses to Akron, Charleston, Western Kentucky and Notre Dame otherwise in that time, the Aces are 4-7 overall this year.
In the Notre Dame game over the weekend the Aces were down 41-29 by the start of the second half. Evansville hit another 41-29 run from there in an 82-58 blowout loss. Connor Turnbull was the top team scorer on 17 points with nine rebounds and Joshua Hughes added 14 points with five rebounds and two assists. Keishon Porter chipped in nine points with two rebounds as well.

I’ll stick with Belmont. The Bruins had a slow first half against UIC in their last outing but eventually took the tight win thanks to 58 percent shooting overall and 13-of-25 (52 percent) from outside. Belmont did have 13 turnovers and gave up 44.6 parent shooting to the Flames, though. That gives the Bruins 75 or more points in every game so far this year; they’re certainly scoring well overall.
As for Evansville, they got run over by a pretty good Notre Dame team in their last outing. The Aces shot just 39.6 percent from the field in that one with a 37-25 rebounding deficit and 13 turnovers. Evansville has been below 65 points in four of the last five games. If they don’t get it going quickly here the Aces will be in trouble.
