Auburn got a little closer in the second half on a 45-42 advantage but it wasn’t enough to make the comeback in an 84-76 loss in the end at home. Tops in scoring during the losing effort for the Tigers was Tahaad Pettiford with 21 points, four assists and two rebounds in 36 minutes.
Arkansas Razorbacks Betting Preview
Over on the Razorbacks’ side, they managed to go 12-3 in the opening 15 games this year. The only losses came in games versus Michigan State, Duke and Houston. The Razorbacks would fall in two of the next three games versus Auburn and Georgia, then beat Vanderbilt, LSU and Oklahoma in the next three. A loss to Kentucky and wins over Mississippi State and LSU came after that.
Matched up against LSU on Tuesday the Razorbacks were sitting in the locker room with a comfortable 42-27 edge. Arkansas kept it rolling in the second half on a 49-35 stretch and took the blowout victory on the road in the end 91-62. Tops in scoring was Darius Acuff with 28 points, five assists and two rebounds. Trevon Brazile added a double-double on 14 points and 12 boards.

I’ll take a stab on Arkansas but this one’s a coin flip. The Razorbacks didn’t have any issues whatsoever in a blowout road win over LSU this week, hitting 56.5 percent from the field while holding the Tigers to just 30.9 percent on the other side. Arkansas had a wild 64-34 advantage on points in the paint but did get out-rebounded 40-35. The Razorbacks have won five of their last six games now, posting 83 or more points in each of those victories.
Back on January 10 when these teams last met, the Razorbacks took a 95-73 road loss. In that game Arkansas shot a decent 43.1 percent from the field but also gave up 56.7 percent to Auburn. The Razorbacks were out-rebounded 36-27 and had a 48-28 deficit on points in the paint. There’s a lot to improve on in the home rematch, but I like Arkansas to look a lot better on Saturday.
