Arkansas-Pine Bluff Golden Lions Betting Preview
AR-Pine Bluff already has two games in the books so far this season. The Golden Lions opened up with a tough matchup on the road versus Washington on Monday. That one didn’t go very well, as AR-Pine Bluff entered the second half with a 41-18 deficit. After a 53-32 run from there, ARPB had a loss 94-50. Leading scorers Jaquan Scott (six rebounds) and Alex Mirhosseini (two rebounds) each had 13 points, and Quion Williams added 10 points and five rebounds in the losing effort for the Golden Lions.
On Thursday in game two versus Portland, the Golden Lions were in trouble after the first half, trailing 45-29. Arkansas-Pine Bluff got better from there on a 45-38 advantage but it wasn’t enough in an 83-74 loss. Leading the way was Williams with a double-double on 31 points, 13 rebounds and three assists. Scott added 14 points and five boards while Jal’chaunn Hayes had 11 points in 17 minutes of work during the losing effort.
Loyola Marymount Lions Betting Preview
Over on the LMU side, they’ve also got a pair of games in the can this year so far. The opener came on Monday versus Lincoln CA and the Lions dominated. Loyola Marymount didn’t have any difficulties in that one, powering out a dominant 137-54 blowout victory. Leading the way was Aaron McBride with 20 points, six rebounds and two assists. Nakyel Shelton added 17 points, seven rebounds and four assists in the victory effort as well.
As for game two, LMU played Eastern Washington on Wednesday. In that one the Lions held a modest 32-29 halftime lead then hit a 38-33 run in the second half to secure a 70-62 win in the end at home. This time the top scorer was MJ Amey with 22 points and two boards. Jan Vide added 11 points and seven assists, while both Jalen Shelley (10 points; 12 rebounds) and McBride (10 points; 11 rebounds) doubled up in 33 minutes of work.

Arkansas-Pine Bluff vs Loyola Marymount Prediction
I’ll stick with LMU. The Lions do have a few things to clean up after their eight-point home win over Eastern Washington, though. Loyola Marymount shot a tepid 13-of-21 from the line, coughed up 13 turnovers and got outmuscled in the paint 28-24 along the way, but did edge the Eagles in rebounding 34-30 alongside 14 team assists. It wasn’t too bad of an effort, but I’d like to see the offense get a lot sharper against comparable teams—especially at home.
As for AR-Pine Bluff, they got better in the second half of their road loss to Portland on Thursday, but the slow start was too much to dig out of. The Golden Lions ended up shooting just 36.8 percent from the field with a 37-31 rebounding deficit, 19 turnovers and a 40-26 disadvantage on points in the paint. The good news is that ARPB registered 11 steals and did well at the line on 24-of-27 (88.9 percent). If Arkansas-Pine Bluff is going to have a relatively good season in 2025-26, they’ve got to work on getting off to a faster start and staying consistent through the whole game. I don’t think they’ll quite reach cover level in this one.
