Arizona State Sun Devils Betting Preview
This year the Sun Devils kicked off their campaign with a solid run, winning eight of their first nine games. The lone loss in that stretch came versus Gonzaga 88-80 on November 10. Otherwise, it was wins over Idaho State, Santa Clara, Grand Canyon, St. Thomas Minnesota, Cal Poly, New Mexico, Saint Mary’s, and San Diego in succession during that time. It’s been a 2-2 run for Arizona State since then, though. The Sun Devils have beaten UMass and Colorado in that quartet with losses otherwise versus Florida and BYU for a 10-3 overall record.
Matched up against Colorado on Saturday, the Sun Devils came out of halftime looking up at a 40-27 edge on the scoreboard. Arizona State kept it rolling in the second half with a 41-34 run and took the blowout 20-point victory 81-61 in the end. Tops in scoring was BJ Freeman with 19 points, four rebounds, and four assists. Basheer Jihad added 17 points with six boards and two assists alongside two steals, while Jayden Quaintance doubled up on 11 points and 10 rebounds. Leading the team in bench scoring was Amier Ali with 10 points, two rebounds, and one assist in 21 minutes of work.
Kansas Jayhawks Betting Preview
Over on the Kansas side, they got off to a nice run to kick off their 2024-25 season as well. The first seven games were all wins for the Jayhawks, as they dispatched Howard, North Carolina, Michigan State, Oakland, UNC Wilmington, Duke, and Furman. Following consecutive losses to Creighton and Missouri, Kansas took consecutive wins over NC State and Brown. On New Year’s Eve Kansas would take another loss to West Virginia, then bounced back with a win in their last matchup versus Central Florida for a 10-3 record so far this year as well.
In the UCF game on Sunday, the Jayhawks came out of the break with a dominant 44-25 edge. Kansas got even better in the second half, rolling to a 55-23 run in an eventual blowout victory of 99-48 in the end. Leading the team in scoring was Hunter Dickinson with his 27 points, nine rebounds, three blocks, one steal, and one assist. Rylan Griffen came off the bench for 18 minutes of work, amassing 14 points and four rebounds in that time. Flory Bidunga added 12 points and five rebounds in 21 bench minutes, while starter Dajuan Harris added 11 points, six rebounds and two assists in his 23 minutes as starter.

Arizona State vs Kansas Prediction
I’ll take a stab at Arizona State. This should be a pretty fun and competitive matchup if both teams play to their capabilities, though. The Sun Devils cruised right past a decent Colorado team in their last outing thanks to 51.9 percent shooting from the field, 46.4 percent (13-of-28) from 3-point range, and a 38-34 rebounding edge. There were a couple of spots to clean up, though: Arizona State hit just 12-of-19 (63.2 percent) from the line and had 17 turnovers. The Sun Devils have a couple of dud offensive outings in their last two losses (66 points against Florida and 56 versus BYU), but otherwise, they’ve been scoring well most of the season. Kansas will be a tough customer, but I think Arizona State can cover here with a good offensive effort.
