Western Michigan Broncos Betting Preview
It’s been a pretty rough run for the Broncos most of the season, however, they’ve been doing better lately. Western Michigan limped to an ugly 3-12 run to open the season, then won four of the next six over Kent State, Northern Illinois, Ball State, and Eastern Michigan. After losses to Ohio, Georgia Souther,n and Akron over the next trio, the Broncos won five of the next seven. Those wins came versus Miami Ohio, Buffalo, Ohio, Northern Illinois, and Bowling Green. The losses were to Central Michigan and Kent State, giving the Broncos a 12-19 overall run so far.
In the Bowling Green matchup back on Friday, the Broncos exited the first half with a one-point edge. Western Michigan kept the pace from there 31-31 and eked out the win in the end 64-63. Topping the team’s scorers was JaVaughn Hannah with 18 points and six rebounds. Owen Lobsinger added 17 points with seven rebounds, three assists, and three steals off the bench, and Chansey Willis had 12 points with four rebounds, five assists, and three steals.
Kent State Golden Flashes Betting Preview
Over on the Kent State side, they had a spotty run going back in January but they’ve been a lot better since then. The Flashes opened the year on an 11-4 stretch, then fell to Western Michigan, Miami Ohio, Ohio, and Akron (with wins over Toledo and Bowling Green) in the next six games. A win streak over Eastern Michigan, Arkansas State, Central Michigan, Ohio, and Bowling Green came next, then losses to Miami OH and Akron in the next pair. Kent State has notched wins over Western Michigan and Eastern Michigan since then, improving their record this season to 21-10 overall through 31 games.
In the Eastern Michigan game last Friday, the Flashes were down 36-31 at halftime but eventually pulled themselves together for a 76-70 win in the end. Jalen Sullinger led the team on 18 points with four rebounds, while VonCameron Davis chipped in 16 points and five boards alongside four steals.

Western Michigan vs Kent State Prediction
I’m going with Kent State. The Flashes started pretty slowly against a middling Eastern Michigan team in their latest home effort, but everything worked out well in the end with a victory. Kent State shot 43.6 percent from the field with a nice 44 percent (11-of-25) from outside and 17-of-22 (77.3 percent) from the line. The only real blemish was the 13 turnovers for 13 Eagles points. It’s been a good scoring run for Kent State; they’ve hit 70 or more points in 12 straight games—a 9-3 stretch.
Kent State lost the January 14 meeting between these teams 94-83 at home but took the road rematch 77-76 on March 4. The Flashes shot pretty miserably (35.8 percent) in that one and had 12 turnovers for 10 Broncos points. Kent State saved themselves with a 53-31 rebounding edge and 26-of-31 (83.9 percent) from the line, though. I’d like to see a better shooting outing (with fewer mistakes) from the Flashes here.
Andrew’s Pick Kent State Golden Flashes -9.5
