Charlotte 49ers Betting Preview
The 49ers started out on a decent run this year, but it’s been rough seas since late December. Charlotte opened on a 7-5 run, then took losses to Charleston, Tulane, Rice, FAU, Tulsa, Wichita State, and Memphis. After a win over USF, the Niners lost to Temple, UAB, and Wichita State in the next three. Wins over Rice and Temple came over the next four outings (with losses to FAU and East Carolina), then losses to Tulane, East Carolina, North Texas, and UTSA before another win over Rice. In total that gives the 49ers a 11-21 record across 32 games this year.
On Wednesday versus Rice, the 49ers were down 34-23 at the break then hit a 41-27 second-half run for the comeback victory of 64-61. Tops in scoring were Giancarlo Rosado and Nik Graves, each with 18 points.
Florida Atlantic Owls Betting Preview
Over on the FAU side, they’ve had a choppy year so far—with a few good runs mixed in there. The Owls went .500 at 10-10 over their first 20 games, then hit a winning streak over UTSA, South Florida, Tulsa, Charlotte, and Temple that stretched from late January into mid-February. Losses to Wichita State, Memphis, and North Texas came over the next three games, though. Since then Florida Atlantic has hit a 2-1 stretch with a loss to UAB in between wins over South Florida and East Carolina. In total this season over 31 games, that gives the Owls a 17-14 overall record so far.
Matched up against East Carolina on Sunday, the Owls were up 41-23 going into the locker room. Florida Atlantic kept it up from there on a 40-30 run and took the blowout win 81-53. KyKy Tandy led the team with 19 points with two rebounds. Tre Carroll came off the bench for 17 points and 11 rebounds, while Baba Miller also doubled up in the win with 14 points, 12 rebounds, five assists, and two blocks. Matas Vokietaitis added 10 points with five rebounds and two blocks in 12 minutes of work during the victory as well.

Charlotte vs Florida Atlantic Prediction
I’ll lean toward FAU here, but you could probably call this one either way if you can find a good line. The Owls blitzed a decent East Carolina team in their last outing though, notching 44.4 percent from the field and 15-of-16 (93.8 percent) from the line alongside a 47-32 rebounding advantage and 19 team assists. Florida Atlantic gave up just 29.3 percent shooting on the other side as well. During this 2-1 stretch, the Owls have hit 69 or more points in all three games and a combined 161 in the last pair.
These teams have met twice before, with FAU taking the win both times. First was a 75-64 road win on January 8, then an 87-75 home victory on February 10. In that most recent matchup, FAU got off to a hot start with 46 first-half points and cruised to the win on 54.2 percent shooting. The turnovers (28 total) were pretty rampant in that game, so I’d like to see a cleaner effort from both sides in the tournament rematch. FAU should have it, though.
