Creighton Bluejays Betting Preview
Creighton has a couple of spotty outings in the books so far this season, but overall they’ve been a fairly consistent team otherwise. The Bluejays beat UTRGV, Fairleigh Dickinson, Houston Christian, and Kansas City out of the gate this year, then fell to Nebraska, San Diego State, and Texas A&M in the next trio. Following wins over Notre Dame, Kansas, and UNLV, Creighton lost two more to Alabama and Georgetown. Since then it’s been a pretty solid 4-1 run though, featuring a lone loss to Marquette in that time. Otherwise, it was wins over Villanova, St. John’s, Butler, and Providence for an 11-6 overall record through 17 games.
In the Providence game on Tuesday, Creighton didn’t have a ton of issues. The Bluejays left halftime with a 43-34 edge, then kept it up in the second with a 41-30 run for an eventual blowout win 84-64. Tops in scoring were Ryan Kalkbrenner (who had 10 rebounds for a double-double along with six blocks and three assists) and Steven Ashworth (six assists), each with 20 points, Coming off the bench with 13 points was Isaac Traudt, who also had one board.
UConn Huskies Betting Preview
Over on the UConn side, they got off to a very nice start this year, then hit some trouble in late November. Things have been much better since then, though. The Huskies beat Sacred Heart, New Hampshire, Le Moyne, and East Texas A&M out of the gate in their first four, then fell to Memphis, Colorado, and Dayton in consecutive neutral-court games. Since then it’s been wins over MD Eastern Shore, Baylor, Texas, Gonzaga, Xavier, Butler, DePaul, Providence, and Georgetown alongside a lone loss to Villanova for a 13-4 overall record so far this year.
In the Georgetown game last weekend, the Huskies held a 35-31 halftime edge. UConn kept it going in the second on a 33-29 run and took the eventual win 68-60 in the end. Leading the team in scoring was Alex Karaban with 19 points, six rebounds, and four assists alongside a pair of blocks. Solo Ball also finished in double-figures with 15 points, two rebounds, one assist, and one steal, while Jayden Ross chipped in seven points off the bench in 17 minutes.

Creighton vs UConn Prediction
I’ll try Creighton in this one. We should have a pretty great matchup regardless, though. The Bluejays made short work of a middling Providence team in their last outing, posting 51.6 percent from the field with 35 rebounds and 15 team assists. The 84 points in that victory continue a pretty good scoring stretch for Creighton; they’ve hit 80 or more points in three of the last five games (a 4-1 run).
As for UConn, they were out-rebounded 31-29 and had 15 turnovers for 17 Hoyas points in their latest win over Georgetown. The Huskies did quite well on defense with just 38.8 percent shooting allowed—and the 15-of-23 (65.2 percent) from the line by Georgetown didn’t hurt either. UConn has 68 or more points in nine of the last 10 games (with all nine being wins), and they’ll also be able to tamp down Creighton’s offense if the Bluejays aren’t resilient here.
Andrew’s Pick Creighton Bluejays +6.5
