UNC Greensboro Spartans Betting Preview
The Spartans kicked off the season on an uneven run, but they’ve since been able to right the ship pretty well starting in December. UNC Greensboro opened on a 3-4 run, taking wins over Florida Gulf Coast, NC Wesleyan, and Long Beach State alongside losses to SMU, Indiana, San Jose State, and UTEP. After a 3-2 run featuring wins over High Point, North Carolina A&T, and William Peace along with losses to North Florida and Elon, UNC Greensboro has hit a four-game win streak. Those victories have come against Virginia-Lynchburg, Wofford, Furman, and Chattanooga in succession for a 10-6 overall run through 16 games so far this season.
In the Chattanooga game, the Spartans came into the second half sporting a 38-36 advantage. Following a contentious second half, UNC Greensboro hit a 40-39 run for the victory 78-75. Leading the team in scoring was Donovan Atwell with 28 points and one rebound. Kenyon Giles added 26 points with two rebounds, and Ronald Polite put up 15 points with three assists and two rebounds in 36 minutes of work on the court.
Samford Bulldogs Betting Preview
Over on the Samford side, they’ve been quite the consistent team so far this year. The Bulldogs haven’t lost consecutive games yet. Samford took out Mississippi College, Rhodes, North Alabama, and Texas Southern with losses to Cornell and Michigan State during a 4-2 opening run. After wins over North Dakota State, Utah Valley, West Georgia, South Carolina State, and Austin Peay in the next five, Samford fell to Arizona. Since then it’s been a 4-0 run with wins over Alabama A&M, the Citadel, Western Carolina, and VMI for a 13-3 record this season.
In the VMI matchup on Thursday, the Bulldogs were in the locker room holding a 47-40 advantage. Samford kept it up in the second half with a 34-28 stretch, eventually taking the win 81-68. Leading the way was Jaden Brownell with 20 points, three steals, and four rebounds. Collin Holloway added 12 points and 12 boards for a double-double, and Rylan Jones put up 14 points with five assists and three rebounds in 31 minutes of work on the court.

UNC Greensboro vs Samford Prediction
I’m going to go with Samford, but you could call this one either way. It’ll be a fun matchup. The Bulldogs posted a nice win over a struggling VMI team in their last game, hitting 44.1 percent from the field with a 40-33 rebounding edge. The turnovers (15) got a little out of hand, but that was about the only rough spot in the victory. During this current four-game win streak, the Bulldogs have hit 81 or more points in each game and are looking quite good right now.
As for UNC Greensboro, they’re coming off a thriller road win over Chattanooga, and this one will be an even tougher challenge. The Spartans have been scoring very well lately with 68 or more points in seven straight (a 5-2 run), so we could very well have a sizable total on Saturday. In the end, I like Samford to eke one out in a close and entertaining matchup. Should be a good one to watch.
