LIU Sharks Betting Preview
The Sharks took a blowout loss to Ole Miss in their opener but then bounced back with wins over Pratt and Air Force. LIU went 1-3 over the next quartet with losses to California Baptist, Columbia, and Winthrop among a lone win over Charlotte.
In their matchup with Lafayette on Friday, the Sharks trailed 35-26 going into the second half. LIU was outscored 40-30 from there and lost 75-56. Malachi Davis led the team with 16 points with three rebounds in the losing effort.
Binghamton Bearcats Betting Preview
Over on the Binghamton side, they lost three of their first four games this year versus Penn State, Miami, and Fordham (with a lone win over SUNY Oneonta). The Bearcats would then beat Misericordia before two more losses to Longwood and Central Connecticut.
Matched up against Niagara in their Friday game, the Bearcats held a one-point lead at the break but eventually lost 65-62 after a 39-35 deficit in the second half. Tymu Chenery led the team on 18 points with six assists and five rebounds.
Why the Binghamton Bearcats will win
- LIU has lost 26 of its last 29 games against non-conference opponents.
- Binghamton has won the first half in seven of its last nine day games.
Why the LIU Sharks will win
- Binghamton has lost five of its last six games.
- LIU has won three of its last four day games.
- Binghamton has lost the first half in five of its last six day games against the Northeast Conference.
LIU vs Binghamton Prediction
I’ll lean toward LIU, but I’m not touching this one. The Sharks didn’t have a good outing against Lafayette on Friday, shooting just 35.7 percent from the field with 14 turnovers in a pretty listless performance. LIU has scored just 121 combined points over the last two games while giving up 162 on the other side in that pair.
As for Binghamton, they faded in the second half in their Friday game versus Niagara. The Bearcats have now lost three straight, scoring fewer than 62 points in each outing along the way. The good news is that Binghamton hasn’t been giving up a ton of points—fewer than 67—in each of those games. That said, I don’t think the Bearcats will have the gas to control the pace here. LIU isn't going to bust any doors down either, though.
