The Temple Owls and the Florida Atlantic Owls meet Saturday in college basketball action from Dickies Arena. Let’s get into our Temple vs FAU prediction. Check back all season long for free college basketball picks at Pick Dawgz.
Temple Owls
The Owls got off to a shaky 8-7 start this year, then hit a losing streak that lasted from January 10 to February 15. Temple finished off the regular season on a 4-2 run with losses to only Tulsa and UAB. In their first two games of the tournament, the Owls took out UTSA 64-61 and SMU 75-60.
On Friday in the tournament matchup versus Charlotte, Temple kept their streak going. The Owls had a rough first half and a 22-18 deficit, but came back on a 40-32 run from there for a 58-54 win. Steve Settle was the leading team scorer with his 14 points, six rebounds and two steals.

FAU Owls
Over on the FAU side, they’ve stayed very consistent this year and haven’t lost consecutive games so far. Florida Atlantic had a rough 3-3 patch in February, but then finished off the regular season with wins over Tulane, North Texas and Memphis to move to 24-7 overall.
In their Friday tourney rematch against North Texas, the Owls held a 35-30 edge going into the locker room. Florida Atlantic hit a 42-41 run the rest of the way and ended up winning 77-71. Tops in scoring was Vladislav Goldin with his 21 points and 10 rebounds for a double-double.
ANDREW’S FREE TEMPLE VS FLORIDA ATLANTIC PREDICTION
I’ll probably just stay with FAU in this one. The Owls didn’t exactly play their best versus North Texas though, so they’ll need a better effort here. Florida Atlantic shot well from the field in their victory (48.1 percent) but hit just 25 percent (3-of-12) from 3-point range and 70.6 percent (24-of-34) from the line. Still, it’s tough to argue against FAU’s offense these days. They’ve scored 73 or more points in 11 straight outings.
When these teams last met on February 15, Florida Atlantic posted an 80-68 victory. FAU shot 49.1 percent from the field and 41.4 percent from 3-point range but also hit just 14-of-24 (58.3 percent) from the line. If this one is tight late, Florida Atlantic is going to need a sharper performance on foul shots, but I think they’ll be okay in the end.
