The Wagner Seahawks and the Central Connecticut Blue Devils meet Saturday in Northeast Conference Tournament college basketball action from Detrick Gymnasium. Let’s get into our Wagner vs. Central CT prediction. Check back all season long for free college basketball picks at Pick Dawgz.
Wagner Seahawks
The Seahawks have been fighting off the .500 mark in the record books for most of the season. After a 12-11 run to start the year, Wagner is 2-4 in their last six outings. Those losses came versus Sacred Heart, Central Connecticut, Le Moyne and Fairleigh Dickinson.
Back on Wednesday in their latest matchup versus Sacred Heart, the Seahawks were able to eke out a road win. Wagner was up 35-31 going into the second half, then hit a 26-25 deficit on the way to a 60-57 result. Tahron Allen led the team with his 22 points and six rebounds.

Central CT Blue Devils
Over on the Central Connecticut side, they entered February with a 13-8 record overall. The Blue Devils are 7-2 in their last nine, taking out Sacred Heart, Fairleigh Dickinson, Wagner, Sacred Heart again, LIU, Stonehill and St. Francis PA during that time.
In their Wednesday matchup versus St. Francis PA, the Blue Devils were up 34-32 in the locker room. Central Connecticut posted a 37-30 run in the second half and took the eventual victory 71-62. Allen Jeanne-Rose was the leading team scorer with his 28 points and five boards.
ANDREW’S FREE WAGNER VS CENTRAL CT PREDICTION
I’m likely going with Central Connecticut here. The Blue Devils shot a nice 50 percent from the field and 80 percent (16-of-20) from the line in their latest win over St. Francis PA. That said, Central CT did get out-rebounded 29-25 and allowed 48 percent shooting from the field. That makes 68 or more points in five straight games—all wins—though.
In the last meeting between these teams, Central CT eked out a 73-72 road win. The Blue Devils started slowly in that one and did give up 14 turnovers but overall it wasn’t too bad of an effort. I like this one to be competitive as well, with Central Connecticut eking out a cover in the end.
Andrew’s Pick Central Connecticut State Blue Devils -5.5
