The Bethune-Cookman Wildcats and the Florida A&M Rattlers meet Saturday in college basketball action from Teaching Gym. Let’s get into our Bethune-Cookman vs. Florida A&M prediction. Check back all season long for free college basketball picks at Pick Dawgz.
Bethune-Cookman Wildcats
The Wildcats were 10-12 back in early February, but they’ve improved a bit since then. Bethune-Cookman is 5-3 in their last eight outings with wins over Prairie View, Texas Southern, Alabama A&M, Alabama State and Southern. The losses were to Alcorn State, Jackson State and Grambling.
In the Grambling matchup on Monday, the Wildcats fell back into the loss column after three straight wins. B-CU was down 35-29 going into the second half and couldn’t recover in an eventual loss 69-60. Dhashon Dyson was the leading team scorer with 15 points and four rebounds.

Florida A&M Rattlers
Over on the Rattlers’ side, they were in rough shape with a 4-14 record at the end of January. Florida A&M has won just two games since then over Alabama State and Alabama A&M. In the last pair it’s been two more losses versus Grambling and Southern to fall to 6-22 overall.
Matched up against Southern on Monday, the Rattlers had a pretty miserable offensive outing. Florida A&M scored just 23 points in the first half and 21 more in the second for a 58-44 defeat. Keith Lamar and Jalen Speer were the only ones in double-figures with 14 points each.
ANDREW’S FREE BETHUNE-COOKMAN VS FLORIDA A&M PREDICTION
I’ll stick with Bethune-Cookman. The Wildcats didn’t play their best in their latest defeat versus Grambling, though. B-CU hit just 36.7 percent from the field and coughed up 16 turnovers for 15 Tigers points. That makes fewer than 68 points in five of the last six games for the Wildcats—they could use a boost offensively.
Way back on January 6 in their last meeting, Bethune-Cookman beat Florida A&M 98-86 at home. The Wildcats shot a nice 58.5 percent from the field in that one but also gave up 52.5 percent on the other side. This one should be a high total as well if the Rattlers can find their offensive groove again (which is no guarantee). In the end I like the Wildcats better on a cover.
Andrew’s Pick Bethune-Cookman Wildcats -1.5
