The Arkansas Razorbacks and the Alabama Crimson Tide meet Saturday in college basketball action from Coleman Coliseum. Let’s get into our Arkansas vs. Alabama prediction. Check back all season long for free college basketball picks at Pick Dawgz.
Arkansas Razorbacks
The Razorbacks have been hovering near the .500 mark for much of the season. Arkansas was 12-13 back in mid-February and they’ve gone 3-2 since then. In those five it’s been wins over Texas A&M, Missouri and LSU alongside a pair of losses versus Vanderbilt and Kentucky.
In the LSU matchup on Wednesday, the Razorbacks came out of the break with a 42-35 edge. Arkansas kept it up in the second half with a 52-48 run for a 94-83 victory in the end. Khalif Battle was the team’s leading scorer on 29 points, four rebounds and two assists.
Alabama Crimson Tide
Over on the Tide’s side, they were sitting at a solid 16-6 at the beginning of last month. Alabama has gone a shaky 4-4 since then though, with wins over LSU, Texas A&M, Florida and Ole Miss alongside losses to Auburn, Kentucky, Tennessee and Florida in that time.
On Tuesday versus Florida, the Crimson Tide couldn’t keep pace on the scoreboard. Alabama was down 44-35 by halftime and posted a 61-52 deficit the rest of the way in a 105-87 outcome. Mark Sears topped the team in the defeat with 33 points and one rebound.
ANDREW’S FREE ARKANSAS VS ALABAMA PREDICTION
I’ll go with Alabama in this one. The Tide really need a good showing here after a couple of losses. Alabama hit just 5-of-23 (21.7 percent) from 3-point range in their latest loss to Florida while coughing up 13 turnovers for 17 Gators points. The good news is that the Tide are still scoring well this year and should put up a nice total on Saturday.
As for Arkansas, they’ve posted 78 or more points in five straight games (a 3-2 run) themselves. The Razorbacks are also giving up some pretty sizable points totals to opposing offenses though, so the Tide should have plenty of room to score in this one. I like Alabama to pull off the cover and finish strong.
