The Rutgers Scarlet Knights and the Wisconsin Badgers meet Thursday in college basketball action from Kohl Center. Rutgers is 15-14 overall and coming off a loss to Nebraska. Rutgers Scarlet Knights
The Knights’ year got off to a .500 run through 20 games at 10-10 overall. Rutgers would rattle off wins over Michigan, Maryland, Wisconsin and Northwestern in the next four games. It’s been 1-4 stretch since then however, with losses to Minnesota, Purdue, Maryland and Nebraska.
In the Nebraska game on Sunday, the Knights were down by 12 points 37-25 going into the second half. Rutgers managed a 31-30 run from there but didn’t get much closer in a 67-56 loss. Jeremiah Williams was tops in scoring with 14 points, three assists and three rebounds.

Wisconsin Badgers
Over on the Badgers’ side, they were a solid 16-4 at the 20-game mark. Wisconsin has gone just 2-7 in their last nine games, though. Those losses came versus Nebraska, Purdue, Michigan, Rutgers, Iowa, Indiana and Illinois. The wins were over Ohio State and Maryland.
In the Illinois matchup over the weekend, the Badgers were down 39-37 by the break. Wisconsin was outscored 52-46 the rest of the way and eventually fell 91-83. Tyler Wahl was the team’s leading contributor on 20 points with seven boards and two assists.
ANDREW’S FREE RUTGERS VS WISCONSIN PREDICTION
I’m probably just sticking with Wisconsin here. There’s not a lot to like with both teams struggling, though. The Badgers couldn’t quite keep pace with Illinois after the first half in their last game, but they didn’t play too badly. Wisconsin put up 50 percent shooting and 32 rebounds in that one. That makes 70 or more points in four straight, but the Badgers are just 1-3 in that time.
The Badgers took a 78-56 blowout loss on the road the last time these teams met up back on February 10. Wisconsin played pretty poorly in that one with 32.8 percent shooting, 59.1 percent from the line and 12 turnovers. I like a much better effort in the home rematch along the way to a Badgers cover, but I’m probably not touching this one.
