The St. John’s Red Storm and the DePaul Blue Demons meet Tuesday in college basketball action from Wintrust Arena. St. John’s is 17-12 overall this year. The Red Storm beat Butler in their latest outing. As for DePaul, they’re 3-26 following a loss to Butler over the weekend. Let’s get into our St. John’s vs. DePaul prediction. St. John’s Red Storm

The Red Storm kicked off the year on a solid 12-4 clip, then hit a rough 2-8 stretch in January/February. The only wins during that time were over Villanova and DePaul. Since then St. John’s is on a three-game win streak over Georgetown, Creighton and Butler during that time.

In the Butler matchup last Wednesday, the Red Storm came out of the break with a 39-33 edge. St. John’s hit a 43-26 run the rest of the way and powered out the dominant win 82-59. Tops in scoring was Glenn Taylor with 17 points, three assists and three steals.

DePaul Blue Demons

Over on the DePaul side, they managed wins in three of their first 12 games this year. The Demons haven’t recorded a victory since December 30 (over Chicago State), however. In their last four outings, it’s been losses to Marquette, Georgetown, Xavier and Butler in succession.

Back on Saturday, DePaul took another loss to Butler. This time the Blue Demons were down 45-27 at the break. DePaul didn’t get any closer on a 37-36 second-half run in an 82-63 result. Jaden Henley was the leading team scorer on his 15 points and five rebounds in 35 minutes.

ANDREW’S FREE ST. JOHN’S VS DEPAUL PREDICITON

I’ll just stick with St. John’s here. The line's a little too thick to mess with, though. The Red Storm didn’t have too many issues versus Butler in their last game, shooting 44.3 percent from the field with a 40-33 rebounding advantage. St. John’s has now scored a nice 80 or more points in three straight games—all victories.

In the February 6 meeting between these teams, St. John’s secured an 85-57 home victory. The Red Storm shot 42 percent from the field in that one and scored 26 points off 19 Blue Demons turnovers. DePaul probably won’t be quite as sloppy with the ball this time around, however I don’t think they’ll be able to keep pace on the scoreboard. That said, the line's probably generous enough to take a stab on the Blue Demons if you're so inclined.

Andrew’s Pick St. John's Red Storm -16.5
