Queens Team Preview
The Queens Royals come into this game looking to build on a 69-63 win over Florida Gulf Coast in the first round. AJ McKee led the way in scoring with 23 points including 3 threes, 6 rebounds and 3 steals while Chris Ashby added 15 points on 5 threes off of the bench as the only other double-digit scorer for Queens in the winning effort. Stetson Team Preview
The Stetson Hatters come into the ASUN tournament after finishing the year at 19-12 following a 78-59 loss to North Florida to close out the regular season. Jalen Blackmon leads the Hatters in scoring with 21.1 PPG along with 2.7 RPG while Stephan Swenson has 13.1 PPG with 4.6 RPG and 6 APG to lead the Hatters in the assist department this season as well. Aubin Gaterense also has 11.1 PPG with a team-high 7.7 RPG and Alec Oglesby has 11.1 PPG with 4.5 RPG to cap off the group of double-digit scorers for Stetson this season. As a team, Stetson is averaging 76.5 PPG on 46.1% shooting from the field, 36.3% from three and 76.7% from the foul line this season.
Queens vs. Stetson Prediction
I’m leaning towards Stetson here. Queens has the advantage of already having a game to shake off the rust, but this is still a back-to-back spot which is never easy, and it’s against a Stetson team that was one of the best in the ASUN this season. Stetson gets after it defensively and nothing comes easy against the Hatters. The Hatters also hold a clear edge at the foul line if this one’s tight and frankly, I would need more points to consider Queens in the underdog role here. Give me the Hatters at home to win, cover and advance.
Chris’s Pick Stetson -4
