The Ole Miss Rebels and the Georgia Bulldogs meet Tuesday in college basketball action from Stegeman Coliseum. Ole Miss is 20-9 so far this year. The Rebels beat Missouri in their last game. As for Georgia, they’re 15-14 and coming off a loss to Texas A&M. Let’s get into our Ole Miss vs. Georgia prediction. Check back all season long for free college basketball picks at Pick Dawgz.

Ole Miss Rebels

The Rebels managed an 18-3 start to the year with losses to only Tennessee, LSU and Auburn. Ole Miss is struggling on a 2-6 stretch since then. The losses in that time have come versus Auburn, South Carolina, Kentucky, Mississippi State, South Carolina again and Alabama.

In the Missouri game over the weekend, the Rebels were able to get back into the win column. Following a 45-26 advantage in the first half, the Rebels held on for an 84-78 win after a 52-39 second-half deficit. Tops in scoring was Matthew Murrell with 21 points, six rebounds and three assists.

Georgia Bulldogs

Over on the Georgia side, they were sitting at 14-5 back on January 24. The Bulldogs have won just one game since then, however. The losses otherwise have been to Florida (twice), Alabama, South Carolina, Mississippi State, Arkansas, Auburn, LSU and Texas A&M.

Matched up against Texas A&M on Saturday, the Bulldogs were able to keep pace with a 34-32 deficit in the first half. Georgia faded on a 36-24 run from there however and ended up falling 70-56 in the end. Blue Cain was tops in scoring with 11 points and two rebounds off the bench.

I’ll lean toward Ole Miss in this one. The Rebels posted a nice offensive effort against Missouri in their last game with 50 percent shooting from the field alongside a 35-22 rebounding edge. Ole Miss was pretty sloppy with the ball though, coughing up 16 turnovers that led to 24 Tigers points. Still, it was a much needed win and marks 71 or more points in four of the last five games.

As for Georgia, they’ve been struggling against some tricky teams lately. The Bulldogs have been competitive when they can get their offense going, but they’ve managed just 122 combined points over the last pair. I wouldn’t be surprised to see Georgia hang around on Tuesday but Ole Miss should still have the cover/win advantage as the better team--even on the road.

Andrew’s Pick Ole Miss Rebels +1.5
