Loyola MD Greyhounds
The Greyhounds haven’t had much luck in the win column so far this year. Loyola MD started things out on a 3-17 run and they’ve gone just 3-5 since then. The losses during that stretch have come versus Bucknell, Holy Cross, Colgate, Lehigh and Navy.
In the Navy matchup on Wednesday, the Greyhounds faced a 43-31 deficit by halftime. Loyola MD came back with a 31-26 run in the second half but still lost 69-62 in the end. Leading team scorer Alonso Faure posted 15 points with six rebounds and two assists in the defeat.
Boston University Terriers
Over on the Boston side, they’ve struggled as well this season but things have gone better lately. The Terriers began on a 7-13 run though 20 games and have gone 5-3 since then. The wins in that time have been over Lafayette, Lehigh, Bucknell, Navy and American.
Matched up against American on Wednesday, the Terriers kicked things off with a 26-18 advantage in the first half. Boston U closed on a 41-34 run and powered out the win 67-52. Anthony Morales was the top team scorer with his 17 points, eight rebounds and three blocks.
ANDREW’S FREE LOYOLA MD VS BOSTON PREDICTION
I’m staying with Boston. The Terriers aren’t playing too badly over the last eight games, and they didn’t have too many issues with a middling American team in their last outing. Boston U hit 44.4 percent from the field in that one with a 34-26 rebounding edge but did cough up 14 turnovers for 15 Eagles points.
The last time these teams saw each other was during a 60-58 road win for Boston back on January 13. The Terriers shot a nice 46.2 percent from the field in that game—which was a sloppy one on 30 total turnovers (17 from Boston). Provided the Terriers can control the ball a little better in the home rematch I think they’ll be fine on a cover.
Andrew’s Pick Boston University Terriers -7.5
