The UNLV Rebels and the Air Force Falcons meet Wednesday in college basketball action from Clune Arena. UNLV is fresh off a loss to Nevada that dropped the Rebels to 14-10 overall. As for Air Force, they’re 8-16 on the year following a loss to San Jose State last week. Let’s get into our UNLV vs. Air Force prediction. UNLV Rebels
The Rebels hovered around .500 for much of the year, culminating in a 9-9 record on January 23. UNLV caught fire in the next five with wins over San Jose State, Fresno State, Wyoming, New Mexico and Fresno State again, then took a loss to Nevada in their last outing.
On Saturday versus Nevada, the Rebels held a 36-28 edge going into the second half. UNLV faded after that on a 41-30 deficit and ended up losing 69-66. Leading the team during the losing effort was Dedan Thomas with 19 points, eight assists and a steal in 36 minutes of work.

Air Force Falcons
Over on the Air Force side, they got off to a nice 7-2 start in their first nine games. The Falcons have won just once since then (over UNLV), falling to Fresno State, Wyoming, Boise State, San Diego State, Fresno State again and San Jose State in their last six matchups.
Last Tuesday in their latest outing versus San Jose State, Air Force held a slim 34-31 edge in the locker room. The Falcons were outscored 42-32 the rest of the way however, leading to a 73-66 defeat. Rytis Petraitis was the top team scorer with 26 points, eight rebounds and three steals.
ANDREW’S FREE UNLV VS AIR FORCE PREDICTION
I’ll take a stab on UNLV here. You could probably make a case either way, though; this should be a good matchup. The Rebels were able to hang around reasonably well versus a good Nevada team in their last outing, but UNLV did get outmuscled on the boards 41-20 in the three-point loss. The Rebels have now been below 68 points in three of the last four games.
UNLV suffered an embarrassing home loss 90-58 the last time these teams met up on January 23. In that defeat, the Rebels shot just 31.6 percent from the field and 17.9 percent (5-of-28) from outside in a rough performance. I like UNLV to get some revenge in the road rematch, but they’re going to have to get off to a good start on offense and stay consistent the whole way.
Andrew’s Pick UNLV Rebels -6.5
