Arizona Wildcats Preview
Arizona jumped to 18-5 after defeating Utah in Salt Lake City, 105-99. The Wildcats found a way to prevail in a triple-overtime clash with the Utes, and they’ll look to tack on a fifth straight win here in Boulder. Arizona is scoring 89.7 points per game, on 48.7% shooting, while allowing 72.1 ppg, and they’re currently first in the Pac-12 with a 9-3 record in league play. The Wildcats are 7-3 over their last ten games, and they’ve gone 4-3 on the road this season.
Arizona Team Profile
- UNC transfer Caleb Love had one of “those” shooting nights (5/20 FG) versus Utah, but he still leads Arizona in scoring (18.9), while grabbing 5.2 rpg.
- Junior big Oumar Ballo has grabbed 16 boards against the Utes, and he leads the Wildcats in rebounding (9.7), while scoring 12.8 ppg.
- Veteran guard Pelle Larson went for a game-high 22 points versus UCLA, and he leads the team in assists (3.4), while scoring 12.5 ppg.
Colorado Buffaloes Preview
Colorado improved to 16-7 after defeating Arizona State at home, 82-70. The Buffaloes used a strong start to tackle the Sun Devils, and they’ll look to double down here against the Wildcats on Saturday. Colorado is scoring 80.7 points per game, on 49.3% shooting, while allowing 75.3 ppg, and they’re currently 4th in the Pac-12 with a 7-5 record in conference play. The Buffaloes are 7-3 over their previous ten games, and they’ve gone 13-0 in Boulder this season.
Colorado Team Profile
- Junior guard KJ Simpson has scored 25 points in two of the last three games, and he leads Colorado in scoring (19.4) and assists (4.4), while grabbing 5.3 rpg.
- Veteran guard J’Vonne Hadley led the way with 19 points in the win over ASU, and he’s up to 11.4 ppg and 5.8 rpg.
- TCU transfer Eddie Lampkin Jr. posted a double-double in the road win over Washington, and he leads CU in rebounding (7.4), while scoring 10.2 ppg.
- Munich native Tristan da Silva has been consistent alongside him in the frontcourt, and he’s averaging 15.3 ppg and 5.4 rpg.
Arizona vs Colorado Trends
- ARZ is 15-8 against the spread, with a 11-11-1 O/U record
- CU is 9-12-2 ATS, with a 14-9 over/under record.
Arizona vs Colorado Prediction
For some reason, this spot in Boulder versus Colorado feels like much more of a trap game then Arizona’s matchup in Salt Lake City with Utah. The Buffaloes have the experience, length, and firepower to keep pace with the Wildcats on their floor, and an undefeated home record to back it. Over the years, we’ve also seen some erratic outings from Caleb Love, and with me being a Duke fan I’ve seen both sides, so while I know what the veteran guard can do, will he shake off a poor shooting performance with a gem on the road? Colorado being the favorites here tells you all you need to know, and I believe it’ll be a contested clash that may come down to a matter of late stops. It’s a big number, but I like testing it, and taking the Under for this Pac-12 battle.
