The Texas A&M Commerce Lions and the Saint Joseph’s Hawks meet in college basketball action from the Hagan 85 Arena on Friday night.
Texas A&M Commerce Gets First Win
The Texas A&M Commerce Lions come into this one looking to build on their first win of the year after a 113-63 win over subdivision Science & Arts last time out. Kalen Williams and Jerome Brewer Jr. share the team lead in scoring with 12.6 PPG apiece, with Williams logging a team-high 2.2 APG to lead the Lions in assists while Brewer Jr. has a share of the team lead with 4.4 RPG as these two are the only pair of double-digit scorers for Texas A&M Commerce so far this season. Tommie Lewis also has 8.4 PPG and 4.4 RPG as well on the year. As a team, Texas A&M Commerce is averaging 66 PPG on 41.2% shooting from the field, 68% from the foul line and 26.9% from three this season.
Saint Joseph’s Wins Third Straight
The Saint Joseph’s Hawks picked up a huge 100-56 win over Stonehill in their last matchup to improve to 3-0 on the year. Erik Reynolds II leads the Hawks in scoring with 15.3 PPG along with 3.3 APG while Rasheer Fleming has 12 PPG with a team-high 5.3 RPG to lead the Hawks on the glass this season. Lynn Greer III has 11.7 PPG with a team-high 5.7 APG to lead the Hawks in the assist department while Xzayvier Brown has 1.7 PPG and Cameron Brown has 10 PPG with 4 RPG to cap off the scoring in double figures for Saint Joseph’s up to this point in the year. As a team, Saint Joseph’s is averaging 83.3 PPG on 48.7% shooting from the field, 35.8% from three and 66.7% from the foul line this season.
Chris’ Pick
I’m rolling with Saint Joseph’s here. They’ve just been much more convincing against the opposition they’ve been up against this season while Commerce has been getting their butts kicked by any D-I opposition they’ve gone up against to date. This should be a fairly straightforward win for Saint Joseph’s, so I’ll lay it and play it with Saint Joseph’s here.
Chris’s Pick Saint Joseph's -17
