The Niagara Purple Eagles and Hawaii Rainbow Warriors face off on Thursday in a college basketball showdown at the Stan Sheriff Center.

Hawaii’s Offense Looked Good In First Game

Hawaii has played only one game so far this season, but they looked good in it with the offense. Hawaii faced off against Hawaii Hilo and it was the Rainbow Warriors that were able to secure the 82-66 victory. At half time they were up 35-23 and they never looked back on the way to the victory. Forward Justin McKoy did have a strong game putting up 15 points, six rebounds, and two assists. There were three different players that finished with at least 10 points. There were 12 players that played for Hawaii.

Niagara Look for First Win

Niagara have played against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and the Bucknell Bison to start the season and they have lost two games in a row. In the first game, the defense wasn’t actually awful against Notre Dame but in each of the first two games the offense just hasn’t been good enough. Ahmed Henderson II was the top player for Niagara and he put up 28 points, two assists, and one rebound. The top three players were good, but outside of that there wasn’t enough offensive talent and that is going to need to be better here. In this game the offense is going to need to find a way to get going early and try to put the pressure on Hawaii.

Hawaii had little issues in the first game, but this is a tougher matchup against Niagara. I liked the way Niagara looked in the first game, and they are going to find success again in this game. Niagara’s defense is going to step up against Hawaii and that is going to be the difference here. Look for Hawaii’s offense to have issues scoring, and that will be enough for Niagara to cover the spread. Back Niagara against the spread.
