The Pacific Tigers and Nevada Wolf Pack face off on Wednesday in a college basketball showdown at Lawlor Events Center.
Pacific Coming off Big Win
Pacific opened up the season with a loss against Sam Houston State, and they were defeated 64-57. In the last game against California though, the offense was elite giving up 87 points and they ended up winning by eight points. At halftime they were up two points and in the second half they pulled away. Donovan Williams was the top player putting up 18 points. There were four different players that finished with at least 10 points. In this game, Pacific is going to need the offense to be good here.
What a Start for Nevada
Nevada comes into this game with a 2-0 but even more impressive was the way they looked in teh last game. Nevada’s offense put up 83 points against the Washington Huskies and they ended up winning by seven points. Kenan Blackshear was the top player for Nevada putting up 31 points. Six rebounds, and five assists. There were three different players that finished with at least 13 points. In this game I would expect Nevada is going to try and push the pace and make this game a shootout.
Shane’s Free Pick
Both teams have proven they like to push the pace, and it’s going to be no different in this game. Nevada put up 83 points in the last game and they are going to go even higher than that here. I don’t trust their defense though, and Pacific is also going to have no issue running up the score. Both teams are going to go over 80 points here, and that will be enough for the over to pass.
