The Wisconsin Badgers and Providence Friars face off on Tuesday in a college basketball showdown at Dunkin’ Donuts Center.
How Does Wisconsin Bounce Back?
Wisconsin comes into this game with a 1-1 record but they really struggled in the last game against Tennessee. Wisconsin scored 70 points against the Badgers, but the defense gave up 80 points and that led to the defeat. Years past Wisconsin had a proud defense, but it doesn’t seem that is the case anymore. In the last game the Badgers were led by AJ Storr and he finished with 17 points, two assists, and one rebound. In this game, the Badgers defense is going to need to step up.
First Real Test for Providence
Providence comes into this game with a 2-0 record but the first two games were layoffs. In the first game against Columbia Providence was able to secure the 78-59 victory and in the last game against Milwaukee, they were able to secure a 79-69 victory. In the last game against the Panthers they gave up only 26 points in the first half and they ended up winning by ten points. Jayden Pierre was the top player for Providence putting up 16 points and five assists. There were five different players that finished with at least 10 points.
Shane’s Free Pick
Providence hasn’t been really tested yet, but I still think they are going to find success here. This Wisconsin defense has some major issues and they are going to really struggle in this game. Providence is going to have no issue running up the score, and it’s going to be a third straight game where Wisconsin refuses to play defense. Back Providence to come away with a cover of the spread
