Appalachian State vs Oregon State Prediction - College Basketball Picks 11/14/23

The Appalachian State Mountaineers and Oregon State Beavers face off on Tuesday in a college basketball showdown at Gill Coliseum. 

Long season coming for Oregon State?

Oregon State sits with a 2-0 record, but if the last game was any indication it could be a long year for the Beavers. In the last game Oregon State faced off against Troy, and it took double overtime to secure the one-point victory. Oregon State’s offense wasn’t good enough during regulation and they need the offense to be better here. Tyler Bilodeau and Dexter Akanno both scored 18 points. There were four different players that finished with at least 12 points, and they are going to need a balanced attack with the offense here. Oregon State only shot 23.8 percent from deep and they are going to need to hit a few more three-pointers here. 

Appalachian State’s defense Struggled in Last Game

Appalachian State comes into this game with a 1-1 record overall, but in the last game they really struggled. The Mountaineers scored 78 points against Northern Illinois, but the defense was awful giving up 91 points and that led to the defeat. They gave up 48 points in the first half and they are going to need the defense to be better here. Chris Matis was the top player for Appalachian State, putting up 16 points, two rebounds, and one assist. There were four different players that finished with at least 11 points per game.
