South Carolina Tested in Last Game

South Carolina sits with a 2-0 record, but they were really tested in the last game against Virginia Tech. They were outscored 46-41 in the 2nd, but they still held on for the 79-77 victory. South Carolina shot 56.4 percent from the field and 47.6 percent from behind the three point line. They also allowed Virginia Tech to shoot 22 free throws, and that is something that is going to need to be improved upon here. South Carolina was led by Myles Stute who put up 21 points and five rebounds. In this game, South Carolina needs the defense to step up in a big way and really put the pressure on.

VMI Will Need Strong Defense

VMI comes into this game with a 1-1 record, but in the first game the defense wasn’t good enough. VMI scored 75 points against Richmond, but the defense was a major issue giving up 93. In the first half they gave up 55 points and if they do that again here, this is going to be a long game. In the last game, VMI faced off against Christendom, and they gave up only 53 points. VMI scored 87 points and they are going to build on that momentum with their offense also.
