The Maryland Terrapins and UAB Blazers face off on Sunday in a college basketball showdown at the US Cellular Center.
How Does Maryland Bounce Back?
Maryland sits with a 1-1 record overall, but they sure looked bad in the last game. They were down by one point heading into the half against Davidson and they couldn’t bounce back and ended up losing 64-61. This is supposed to a very talented Maryland squad, but they sure didn’t look like that in the last game. Maryland was led by Jahmir Young and he finished wih 18 points, seven assists, and two rebounds. In this game Maryland is going to need to find a way to get the offense going.
UAB Has Been Competitive
Don’t let the 0-2 record fool you, this UAB team has been competitive the first two games. In the first game UAB was defeated by Bradley 73-71 and in the last game against Clemson they were defeated 77-76. Against Clemson they were leading at halftime, but they couldn’t make the shots late and ended up losing by a point. Eric Gaines was the top player for UAB putting up 18 points, three assists, and two rebounds. UAB shot 40.9 percent from behind the three point line and in this game, they are going to need to hit the shots from deep.
Shane’s Free Pick
UAB has been competitive the last couple of games and it’s going to continue to be the case again here. UAB has proven to have a good offense and they are going to have no issue running up the score again here. I do actually think UAB is going to win this game outright, but we will take the points here to be safe. Back UAB. I am throwing a few dollars on UAB on the money line but if you want to bet that, bet it small.
