The Bryant Bulldogs and Rutgers Scarlet Knights face off on Sunday in a college basketball showdown at THE RAC.
Another Good Early Season Test for Bryant
Bryant plays another tough non-conference schedule this season and this is just another test as they try to get ready for conference play. In the first game Bryant lost to Manhattan 61-59 but they bounced back in the last game against Fisher. The offense was elite scoring 140 points on the way to the blowout victory. Bryant in the last game was led by Sherif Kenney and he finished with 27 points, five rebounds, and four assists. There were six different players that finished with at least 11 points.
Will Rutgers Defense be Strong?
In the first game of the season Rutgers faced off against Princeton and the defense gave up 68 points and that led to the seven point defeat. In the last game against Boston, Rutgers defense was elite giving up only 45 points and that led to the victory. Rutgers allowed Boston to only shoot 26.9 percent from the field and they are going to need the defense to be good here. Rutgers offense was led by Gavin Griffiths and he put up 25 points and four rebounds. There were only two players that finished in double figures.
Shane’s Free Pick
I don’t trust this Bryant offense against good teams, and I would consider Rutgers a good team. In the last game Rutgers gave up only 45 points and Bryant is going to have some major issues getting the offense going here. Look for Bryant to finish with less than 50 points here and their defense is also going to struggle. This will be a blowout victory by the home team. Back Rutgers against the spread.
