The High Point Panthers and Wofford Terriers face off on Saturday in a college basketball showdown at the Jerry Richardson Indoor Stadium.

High Point Offense Looks to Continue Success

High Point opened up their season against St. Andrews and they sure looked impressive. High Point looked impressive in the first half, but in the second half they poured it on putting up 59 points and they ended up winning 105 points. The defense also gave up only 51 points. High Point got a lot of playing time for the reserves and that’s something that should help them in this game. Abdoulaye Thiam had a strong game putting up 18 points, five rebounds, and four assists. In this game High Point is going to need to push the pace and really put the pressure on the Wofford defense.

Wofford Coming Off Big Win

Wofford faced off against Brevard College in the first game and they dominated the game. At halftime they were up only three points, but in the second half they pulled away and ended up winning by 17 points. In the second half they scored 43 points while the defense gave up only 29. Wofford used a balanced attack with five players putting up at least 12 points. Guard Corey Tripp had a strong game finishing with 19 points, six rebounds, and six assists. In this game it’s going to need to be teh defense that steps up.

Both of these offenses had no issue in the first game of the season and it’s going to be no different in this game. High Point scored 105 points in the first game and although they probably won’t get that high here, they are going to score plenty.
